We are now entering the German market - and we’re looking for a Business Development Manager who shares our passion for empowering schools, educators, and learners. You will be our first local hire within sales and business development in Germany, and play a key role in shaping our presence in the region. We’re planning to establish our presence in the Düsseldorf and Rhine-Main region, but for the right candidate, we’re open to flexibility in location.

Your tasks and responsibilities
Drive the expansion into the German education market by establishing relationships with key stakeholders, including school leaders, educational authorities (Schulträger), and decision-makers in the federal states (Bundesländer).
Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting to closing deals, including post-sale support.
Engage with school leaders, municipal and state representatives, and other key stakeholders - primarily through digital meetings, with regular travel for in-person visits.
Represent Skolon at educational trade fairs (e.g., Didacta, Learntec), user groups, webinars and key conferences to drive networking and business development.
Travel to customer meetings, events, and trade fairs will be a regular and expected part of this role.
Your profile
We believe experience comes in different forms, but ideally you bring:
A minimum of 3 years’ experience in business development, sales, or a related field, preferably within SaaS, EdTech, or digital solutions.
You have a strong track record of managing the entire sales cycle - from prospecting to closing successful deals.
Solid understanding of the German education system and its decision-making structures (e.g., Schulträger, Bildungsministerien, schools).
Previous experience engaging with school leaders and public authorities is a strong advantage.
Fluency in German and English are required.
Background in start-up or scale-up environments is highly valued. You thrive in a flexible role that may go beyond traditional responsibilities.
